Before you begin
A key step before you start measuring is knowing whether your curtains will be face fix or ceiling fix.
You will also need to decide whether you want yout curtains to finish above the floor, on the floor, or if you would like them puddling – finishing above the floor is generally not used for ceiling fix curtains.
Measure - Face fit
Measuring the width:
Measure the exact outside width of architrave, then add 30% so the curtain stack clears the window.
Measuring the drop:
Measure from where you would like the top of the track to be to the floor. Measure along the left, middle and right. Be sure to select which type of finish and measure to specified length.
Measure - ceiling fit
Measuring the width:
Measure the width of the wall. If you have a cornice – measure from the inside of the cornice. If you do not have a cornice – measure from wall to wall.
Measuring the drop:
Measure from the ceiling to the floor. Measure along the left, middle and right. Be sure to select which type of finish and measure to specified length.
